Our Story

Hello, we are Max and Haley Gerber, the owners of Hickory Meadow.  Our family moved to Charlotte, Tennessee in July of 2016 to live on the family farm.  The most common question we are asked is, "why a wedding venue?"  This story dates back to World War II.  

The dream to open a venue began with the desire to honor Max's grandfather, Cleborne Worke.  Cleborne bought this land piece-by-piece during World War II.  Every time he would receive his wages while overseas, he would send the money home to his wife, Sue, so she could purchase the land. 

When Max approached Haley with the idea, her only request was that the venue be inspired by the modern-farmhouse.  

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our first wedding wasn't held until May 30, 2020.  We felt a flood of emotions as we opened the doors for our first bride to walk down the aisle.  

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect start to this chapter in our lives!  

In 2025, we will begin our SIXTH year.  We have been fortunate to be a part of over 200 couples happily ever afters.  We are both still active in your wedding process - from your initial tour to your final walk-through, we walk the journey with you.
